Toy Thursday

Ever Thursday I am going to give a review on a toy from Disney this week is a gift that my daughter got for her birthday. Which was a Disney Tangled Tower, which is the polly pocket size one.

This toy is the perfect size for little hands, like my daughter. I found it online when I was shopping for something to get her, and since I got this she is now all into tangled. It is her new favorite toy to play with now. Did not think that this would be something that would be a big hit with her, but it was. I was so glad that I got it. It is around 39.00 I believe, which is not bad. I has one doll and pascal. The top opens and closes.

Since I got this for my daughter I went and bought her another tangled set that came with Finn and a Horse, which she loves horses which made me pick up that set, and there was also another Tangled doll in it. This is a great toy for little girls.

I would so get this over again for my daughter, she has a lot of little sets that she does not know about that will be perfect with this for Christmas.

Disney Meet and Greets

Here is my daughter meeting the rabbit from bambi,
She followed him to be the first to meet him.
When ever we go to Disney I have to do meet and greets, because it is a Disney thing. I remember last October when we took my daughter I was scared to do some of them because I did not know how she was going to react, she was only 2 years old at the time. I was thinking she might run away and not want to go near them. But boy was I wrong. At first she was scared because who wouldn't be if there was some big bear looking at you, but after a while she was alright, she went right up to all of them. but the princess, she did not take well to them. It might be because she had not seen them before, but that was alright to me, she did very well for her age. After the first meeting she did well with meeting them. After meeting Mickey she was great. I believe it is because she has seen Mickey on TV and it was the best time she ever had, when i told her we would meet Mickey later she could not stop talking about it.

Mickey was her favorite to meet, and i love how the maps show you where they will be and times, like at Epcot. I was able to almost meet all the princesses.
we waited 45 min, but she was so happy to meet mickey.

This photo is funny, It looks like she is about to hit Donald Duck but she was giving hm a high five, which i just caught the picture at the right moment. This is at Epcot

I do not know what she is doing right here
While Hanny Manning was signing her
book
Time to give Goofy a kiss, this was so cute. She was having so much fun. Though I know that she will not remember I have all the photo's for her to remember it all.

Meet and Greets are great, anyone going to Disney should enjoy thing.

Disney Movie Sunday

Ever Sunday I am going to pick a movie and talk about it, this weeks movies is.....

Aladdin......

I just rewatched this movie, as I have not seen in in a very long time, and thought that this would be the movie I pick to blog about this week. Aladdin is a story about a young man and his best friend Abu, this story is very sweet and a great love story, but it is not centered around a princess the whole movie, it is more about Aladdin, which I think is a great movie for boys to watch also. Aladdin is also a good move because it can teach girls how to find someone they love not based on looks or where they come from but who the person is on the inside.

Facts about the movies.
  • When the film was first released on VHS in October 1993, it sold over 10.8 million copies in its first week and went on to sell over 25 million in total. This record stood for only two years when it was beaten by the release of The Lion King.
  • The color design of the film was inspired by old Persian miniatures and Victorian paintings of the Middle East.
  • Jafar at first was more hot-tempered, while Iago was a cool, haughty British type. The filmakers felt that having Jafar losing his temper too much made him less menacing, so the personalities of the two characters were switched around.
  • Whenever Aladdin tells a lie, the plume on his hat falls and covers his face.
  • When Aladdin realizes that he might become the next sultan he worries and the Genie tries to cheer him up by saying, "Aladdin, you've just won the heart of the princess! What are you going to do next?", setting him up for the popular Disney advertising campaign line, "I'm going to Disney World!" Aladdin does not say this, but we hear the Disney theme music in the background. Similarly, when the Genie gets ready to leave at the end of the film, he is wearing a Disney souvenir Goofy hat.

Quotes from the movie:
  •  Merchant: Look at this! Yes! Heh, heh. Combination hookah and coffee maker, also makes Julienne fries. Will not break!
    [taps it on table]
    Merchant: Will not-
    [it falls apart]
    Merchant: It broke!
  • Princess Jasmine: Father, I choose Prince Ali!
    Jafar: Prince Ali left!
[shows Aladdin standing in the doorway to the balcony]
Aladdin: Better check your crystal ball again, Jafar!
    Princess Jasmine: Prince Ali!
Iago: How in the he- Uh, awk!

Here is a Photo of me and my Princess Haley meeting Jasmine and Aladdin, can not wait to do it again in January of 2013

Fun Facts Friday

Each Friday I am going to post some facts about Disney World, Disneyland, or Disney Movies.

Today we are going to talk about five Bizarre Facts about Disney, these facts are things I have found online and I did not know about.

5. There are hidden Mickey Mouse ears all over the theme parks. These can be anywhere in the park, though paintings or on the ground with shapes of the rocks. I did not know this one, though maybe I should have since I have been to Disney World so many time. Next time I go which is in 2013 I am going to try and find as many as I can while I am there, and take some photos.

4. This was back in the day, well in the 60's which was back in the day for me. That if you were a male and you worked at Disney you were not allow to have facial hair, you had to be clean cut and looked nice, it was not until the 2000's when men were allowed to have facial hair that was neat.

3. Like many jobs you should not date someone that you work with. That is the same with Disney, you are not allowed to date someone that also works at Disney. Also cast members are not allowed to flirt with guest.

2. We all have heard about the Disney vault, where your favorite movies are put back in the vault, well these movies are held inside the vault for ten years before they are released again, so if you favorite movie is out right now you might want to get it if not then you have to wait ten years for it to come out again.

1. Because Walt wanted to ensure that everything would be as magical as possible when Disneyland was being built in the early 50s, he had an apartment built in the theme park, which was an hour from where he lived in California. Employees would know when he was in the apartment, above the fire station on Main Street USA, when the light was on in the window at night. To this day, more than 45 years after his death, a light is left on in the window in his memory and supposedly the room has been left untouched since he passed away. Perhaps Mickey’s Ears are not the only things you could ever see at Disneyland.

Disney Toy's Thursday

Every Thursday I am going to pick a Disney toy that my daughter has or will have or Christmas and tell you all what I think about them. Most will be Princess stuff, but she does have other things.

How many of you all have seen these dolls, the Disney Animation Collection, I have seen these for a while at Disney Store and want to get the whole collection for my daughter for Christmas but I seems like I wont get them all just in time for that, but these dolls are so perfect that I had to get a few for my daughter. My daughter has a lot of My First Disney Princess dolls, but these ones looked so cute that I want to get these for her. Right now I have two at the house, Jasmine and Phocahots at the house and just got the Tangled one for her because she is so into Tangled right now. These are right now 20.00 dollars at www.disneystore.com they are normal 24.50 which is not that bad of a price at all, I think those are a perfect price for these dolls, and though i have only seen the ones that i bought though skype, I love them. Can not wait to get the other ones for my daughter. I do love that they each have an animal with them. Also another thing I like about these over the My First Princess dolls, is that Ariel has fins like she should because she did not have human legs until the end of the movie not when she was a toddler.

Have any of you all collected these, what do you guys think about these. Let me know. I am now on 3 out of 10 to get.

Disney Movie night Menu's

So since I have time to be planning these family movie nights, I have menu and ticket ideas I would love to share with all of you. I have made three menu's and three sets of tickets for three out of six movie nights I have planned when I am coming home, I have came up with five movie nights and thinking about one more. Since I am going to be staying at the Art of Animation resort when I go to Disney I am doing a movie night on The Lion King, Finding Nemo, Cars, and The Little Mermaid. And as you read in the first post my first movie night is Tangled. I have came up with menu's and tickets for Tangled, Lion King, and Little Mermaid. Here are the menu's that I have made for those nights.

I am in love with The Little Mermaid one, I think it is the best one that I made though these are only made with powerpoint. I do miss my photoshop when it comes to making these kind of things.

Next up are moving tickets, I saw these on someone else blog and wanted to make them because I thought these would be cute. I have three of them made these were simple to make, and if anyone wants to use them you all are welcome to. These are just simple ones that I made and I think they are just so cute.

Here are the Little Mermaid ones I liked this picture that i used of Ariel and Eric.

Tangled ones are cute, I wanted to uses one with all of them, but this one stood out to me because this is how Tangled it.

The Lion King is my favorite movie I love the tickets I made for this one.

If anyone would like any let me know I can make more.

Disney Sequels

There are a lot of Disney Movies that are out there, and also there are a lot Disney Sequels that are out there. Now there are some that are good and there are some that just do should not have came out. I remember watching the Lion King growing up, it was the first Disney movie I can remember going to see with my family, as the first one came out in 1995 and I was about 6 or 7 when the movie came out, it is still my favorite movie of all time. Then I heard about a second one coming out and I could not wait to see that one. As it was a direct to video release my mother or father got it to me, and I loved it like the first one, it was wonderful. The story was great but when I got older and was watching it again some of the story lines confused me. But over all it was still a great movie.

The Little Mermaid 2, which was a movie I did not think would have another movie come out, as the first one came out in 1989 when I just a year old. But this is another Disney sequel that I do like, it is not that bad at all, also it believe that it is the first Disney movie sequel, besides Lion King, that a Disney Princess as a daughter or a kid. This story seemed to me to just be something that was like Little Mermaid but just the oppisite because her daughter wanted to be a mermaid.

Cinderella 2, this movie I could not watch at all, it just did not make any since to me at all, i was so lost in this movie. This was one sequel that Disney should not have done. Though the third one is not that bad, they should have skipped this one. Also I think for a classic like this movie there should not have been a sequel, because they are so classic they should be left alone.

let me know what you all think about Disney sequels, tell me which ones you loved and which ones you believe that should have just left alone.

The Little Mermaid

I know I just did Lilo and stitch yesterday and it is a Sunday thing for this blog. But this is not like the post that I posted yesterday. Since I been planning The Little Mermaid movie night for the lest movie night before we go to Disney I wanted to watch the movie. And I can not believe that it came out in 1989, that was only one year after I was born, it just does not seem like it had been that long. I love this move. I was glad that I watched it. So I just wanted to post a few photos that I have and if anyone has an idea for a food for the movie night that would be helpful.

Disney Movie Sunday

Disney Movie Sunday: I will post a some information about a movie ever Sunday.
Today's movie that I picked it Lilo and Stitch.

Here is a photo of my daughter from when we went to Disney last October. And she did not know who Stitch was but I just love this photo of here.

Lilo and Stitch is a movie I love, as it has to do with family, and I am a family person.

My favorite quote from the whole movie and I bet it is a lot of others also.

Lilo: 'Ohana means family, family means no one gets left behind. Or forgotten

A little information about the movie that I bet that some of you did not know.
  • Hawaii-born cast members Jason Scott Lee and Tia Carrere helped the writers with dialog and accents.
  • The name "Lilo" means "Generous One" and its origin is Hawaiian. It can also be interpreted as "Lost" and this would give the song title "He Mele No Lilo" a loose translation as "Lullaby of the Lost".
  • According to the map of the projected landing of Experiment 626, the story takes place in the island of Kauai.
  • When Lilo explains about how she desperately needed to give Pudge the fish a peanut butter sandwich because he controls the weather, it seems that she is just being random, but there is reason behind it: Lilo's parents died in a rainstorm.
I remember when this movie came out that I had always wanted to go to Hawaii and I did end up going and living there for three years. This movie is a great Disney family movie.

Since this movie is about Hawaii here are some photos from Hawaii from when I was there.

This is on the Island of Oahu, this is in Wakiki. This is one thing that I miss about not being in Hawaii not more, I love the views.

I do not remember where this one is, but I know it is near this park that we went to. Hawaii has some of the best views in the world, I want to go back one day.

Art of Animation Resort

As I lay in this little twin bed the army gives me to sleep in, which is better than something else i could be sleeping on right now, I google around to see what the new Art of Animation resort looked like as that is where I am wanting to stay when I take my daughter to Disney this year. As it seems to be perfect for my little "Princess" now. The little mermaid standard room will be open when I go, and looking at the photos it seems like a perfect little area for my daughter and me. Also including my father. Cause I do not think I could handle five days at Disney on my own with my daughter.

I found some photos of the room, and was just thought this is just perfect for my daughter since she is now a "Princess"

Here is a photo of the beds, I think it looks just great. Wish that I had those sheets for my bed over where I am.
I am so in love with these beds, they look so cute and I love the photo next to the bed, I just might have to make this movie our final family movie night before heading to Disney.

I really wanted to stay in the Lion King Suite, but that adds like 600 dollars to my trip and there is only going to be three of us going to Disney so I think i save that money for another trip to later on that year to Disney.

I was looking at other photos also and saw the table that is inside the room, and it was so cool looking. I think that this might be just where we are staying. I just keep on planning more and more stuff for this trip, and I just can not wait till January to do it. I know it seems like it is so far away but we are already halfway though October and before I know it it will be December and I will be back home with my daughter. Can not wait for that day.

Now I am thinking I am going to start planning "The Little Mermaid" movie night, just to have thigns ready for it. Can not wait to get home and have these movie nights and time with my daughter, and thirty days off from work.

Idea's formovie nights ?

As I start to get dates for when I will be coming home, I have came up with our Disney Vacation, and I believe that I have the dates that I want to go, which is Jan 14-18 2013, so when I did some back tracking of the time I came to see that I can do about 6 weeks of movie nights. One ever week leading up to going to Disney. My first one is Tangled, but after that I am trying to think about the next five I want to do. I know there are so many Disney movies out there, but I am trying to come up with the Disney people that she is going to see there. We went last year when she was two, but this year my daughter is going to be three, and I believe it is going to be a great trip. But for the movies I need to come up with five more movie nights that lead to our vacation. They are going to be every Saturday, which i believe will be good day, because when I get back I do not have to work a whole lot, and also will be on leave for 30 days which is going to be nice. But I have a lost of movies that I want to do for my daughter.

The List:
1. Lion King (She was in love with this movie before I left that she ruin my disk from watching it so many times)
2. Cars (This is a movie that is great for any kid.)
3. Princess and the Frog (My daughter first Disney movie, she was about two months old when we went to see it)
4. Finding Nemo (Who doesn't love DORA)
5. Mulan (I do not think my daughter has ever seen this movie)
6. Sleeping Beauty (I like this movie, and do not believe my daughter has seen this one)
7. Tinkerbell and the Secert of the Wing (This come out the end of October, and I already have two dolls waiting for her when I get home and when we watch this movie, this might be one that we do.)
8. Lilo and Stich (Just because my daughter was born in Hawaii, and this is a Hawaii movie. How I sometimes miss being in Hawaii)

That is the list that I have, there are more out there, but I just do not know what to do. I know I will think of something. What I do know is that, when I get home and that first Saturday when we start these that Tangled is the first movie and she will have three new dolls waiting for her.

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

This is my first post to this blog here. I am starting to plan some movie nights for my daughter. I have came up with some ideas for a Tangled Movie Night, I am working on what I am planing but I have some photo's of what I have came up with for dinner and what I would want on the table and some activites to do for the time before dinner and the movie. If anyone has any ideas that would be wonderful to help me. I am planning this for the first weekend after I get back from Afghanstain in a few months.

The Menu:
 Angle Hair Pasta with chicken
Braided Breadsticks
And blue jello with orange boats.

For the table set up I have:
Tangled Tower
Tangled Doll
Movie Package
Tangled Plates/Cups
Yarn Braid
Movie Tickets(That I will show you photos when I get them made)

For the activite i have
Color pages
Tangled tshirt (this is where we are going to paint a tshirt that i have put tangled on it)

I am also thinking of getting some gifts like a new doll or something to go with the dinner/movie.

I would love some more ideas on this, as this is going to be the first one after I get home. Would love some more ideas for dinner to get some vegs in it, and some other activites to do for the day.
